I really enjoyed this new Bad Boy Mafia Romance. Donatello (Donnie) and Isabella are very likable characters in this story. This is a very well developed storyline and the characters are also well developed. I enjoyed the unexpected twists and turns to Donnie's already laid out plans. Isabella is a strong feisty characters caught up in her fathers mess and just trying to get away. I enjoyed how the characters interacted with each other and the story really held my attention and kept me interested until the end.
Just in case I post some spoilers, please don't read on.Now that I've gotten that out of the way, let me begin.First off, I was intrigued with the book description and thought I'd give it a go. The whole escaping from her, Isabella's, father's men was quite dangerously hilarious with her running around with the bag over her head and hand cuffed. Then she bumps into her father's enemy's, Donnie, hands. The after that it was just like okay. I did note while reading that the book had a bit of the whole Romeo & Juliet type of thing going on with the whole star crossed romance. What started to bring the stars down on this book was when she goes into her room after being conflicted of wanting her father to die or not and boom bam she has a purse and a cellphone. Where did that come from? Did she run around bound with her purse in between her arms? Also, if she did I doubt that Donnie would allow her to have a cellphone, especially since she's part of the enemy. Again, where did the purse and the cellphone come from? I would've expected her to find a corded phone to try to dial her father, that would've been a bit more realistic. As for the sex scenes (which I felt wasn't needed at all), I felt as if they were a plot device to bring about the pregnancy, which is what brought another star down. Her father is written as this evil mob guy, I felt that if he found out his was pregnant he would've done some serious harm to her for that, maybe possibly force her to get rid of the child, especially if he is going to be giving her as a gift to Callum.Overall, I found this book to be an okay read and might read other works by her.
I gave this book 5 stars because it was terrific!! Bella and Donnie were too cute together. Now her Dad, he was truly a monster. I am glad he got what he deserved. Great job Lexi!! I can't wait to read your next book.
Wow. Just....wow. The Alpha males in this book ROCK. I really liked it. Guns, shooting, alpha males (I really hated the father's guys, though), mafia wars, it's in here.
