This series starts very promising. It's very easy to identify with the main character, Ursula, who is thrown head first into a world she doesn't know, nor does she care to, full of incubi, gods, hellhounds and fae. She is both cool, with her mysterious powers and sword skills, and endearingly clumsy, often misstepping when trying to say the right thing at the right tone.Like all of Crawford's books, this one is full of humor accompanying the drama, and I found myself laughing out loud more than once. Some of the side characters are fantastic as well, and there's a hair designer that I simply adored.A very enjoyable read, and highly recommended
Ursula has a hell of a birthday! A chance purchase turned out to me a book I couldn't put book down. Imagine if on your 18th birthday your not so great life really takes a turn for the worse. Suddenly you can set things on fire, and a hell-hound shifter is there to claim your soul, which you apparently had offered to a goddess... but you can't remember your life. I cannot wait for the rest of Ursula's story...
We are introduced to Ursula, who has lost her memories and on her 18th birthday gets dragged into the supernatural realm. I really liked Ursula, she's tough and sassy. Her life is a mystery to her and the reader, which I found engaging since this will give us a chance to learn about her as she learns about herself.Solid storytelling and world-building help bring everything together smoothly. Definitely looking forward to the next book.
It was okay. I got annoyed with the main character a lot of times. I had a hard time connecting with her and the fact that she was lusting after every male she meet. I would read the next book to see were the story goes but if it turns out like this book then I would stop reading the series.
From, witches to hell hounds and vampire to incubus. This is an interesting action filled romp to clam souls. The main character is put into difficult situations where she has little hope of saving her own soul.
I loved the storyline and action in this book. Again, I couldn't stop reading.....The characters just come to life on the page and I love how this series also is set in the same type of realm as the hunter series. The whole Hellhound storyline was unexpected and so much fun.
This book was great. We have Ursula who only remembers her life for the past few years, on her 18th birthday she discovers she is anything but normal because sometime in the past she sold her soul. On!y two ways to deal with it either sign that you agree to terms or have your soul reaped, except if you ask for a trial. I recommend reading the book if you want to know more it is worth it!
What a fantastic book! I love CN Crawford's writing style, it is very unique. I absolutely love the way the characters are written. The world they create is fascinating. This book, much like the other series is filled with a wonderfully paced story and rich with dark humor. The story is vivid and pulls you into their world. Can't wait for the next!
