I am a book a week or more reader. I cannot seem to find enough authors I enjoy to fill my appetite. I was pleasantly surprised by the author's characters and the storyline. I love the fact I can now add another author to my list.
This was not what I expected,it was just ok to me very choppy story and that may been the way it was edited for Kindle? I was disappointed in the characters development. This just may not have been my cup of fantasy.
For the reader venturing into the fantasty genre but not the complexity of a 600pg detailed epic this is a good read. A young, for a halfling elf, coming of age with the challenges and losses that come with a world in flux. I enjoyed this book enough to read the second installment as well.
Not sure what to say about this except that it is a good start to this series but also that it does need ALOT of polishing for the story to flow. That I think comes with experience and I see that you have written a few books but I have only read this one. I am excited about the following stories that are part of this series and hope you have worked out some of the kinks in future writings. Good Job J.T.!!!!
The story was very erratic, rushed and made very little sense. He gains a 'Power ' that apparently, expresses itself by speaking like a 4 yr old. Speech patterns throughout the story are lame. I had to FORCE myself to finish the book after i realized that No, it would NOT get better the further i read.
I am an avid reader (3-5 full-langth novels a week). I was disappointed in the book. I will admit that it's not in any of my preference genres. But I like to branch out every now and then to keep myself from getting bored. And I just couldn't get in to the story.
**I was given an ARC for a true and honest review***This was a very enjoyable book! I can't wait for the next book to become available in this series. I haven't read any fantasy for a while, don't really know why but this was actually a great book to renew my interest in the fantasy genre. This book has something for everybody – elves, dragons, gods, dwarves, and many other interesting things. It’s a story of four half-blooded elf siblings wanting to be apart of the war their mother and father and many other elves have been call to the war in the south. Having been forbidden to leave the safety of the Urlas Woodlands. A consultation with the Shaman Iouir sends them on a mission to take a message to Dimn the wind god of the north of a growing darkness in the Glacial Seas. This first book of the series is about the harsh realities of the lands beyond the barrier of their homelands that the siblings have to face. Their journey is a series of strife, misfortunes, and dealings with enraged dwarves, trickster supernatural beings, and fighting for their lives in the defense of Dimn's temple. After their intense fight Kealin the second oldest brother believes his eldest and younger brothers are dead and his sister is sent away from their desperate struggle to survive. Alri and Kealin are thrown to the fortune of the winds. Are his brothers dead or alive he's not sure and he doesn't know where the winds sent his little sister Alri. Having been grievously wounded Kealin must first mend his body before he sets off to find his sister. He wonders what the future holds for himself and his siblings if they did survive. Is he the sole survivor of their quest thus far? I guess will have to see in the next book. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.
I haven't had the chance to read this book yet but based of the cover and the little I read it sounds amazing and full of adventure ! I am looking forward to all the mythic creatures with the twist and turns !!
