Love, love this series. Got the three books a couple of days ago and sat right down with the first. Inhaled it. Fast, smart, great settings, Love Pia (who wouldn't?) and her crew. I had intended to read just the first and save the other two for rewards when I got some work of my own done. Right. I'm half-way through the second. I'm not an easy-to-win reader. I read a lot of books and only bother to review 1 in 30 or so. That should tell you what I think of these.Recommended.
Not bad but not great. I read all 3 books and noticed the characters developed a bit over book 1. Since this is fiction it's ok with me if the main characters are "bad" and don't miss the other guys as frequently as in this series. Since book 2 and 3 showed improvement I would like to think that subsequent books will improve more? As I mentioned .....not bad writing at all. I just like my heros to be just that in this fictional world.
These three books are a must read.. Seely James has created the female version of Jack Reacher.. This new series is a thrill ride you don't want to miss.. Action packed rollercoaster rides in all three books.. Can't wait for the future installments..
When I read the blurb on about a series with a “Unhinged veteran Jacob Stearne and retired athlete Pia Sabel”, I thought to myself, this “might be quite the fun read.”I was right and I was wrong. I thought it would be a light-hearted rom-com-y type of read. What I realized only a couple of pages in was the tone and atmosphere of the story was more in line with a Baldacci feel – a partner/team approach with lots of action. I love it.I read all three novels right in a row. Each success exhilarating; each fail was heartbreaking. Don’t get too attached – anyone is fair game! I was picturing the action in my head like a movie – the details were that spot on.Death and Dark Money is next on my Kindle. My free time is scheduled for the next few days.
What an amazing series. The people are so real especially Jacob with his lapses of concentration at Inopportune moments! The excitement in every page just got more. I so recommend this series to everyone who is an adrenaline junkie!
A marathon of adventure with the boxed set. Pia Sabel and company supply plenty of edge of the seat suspense, a splash of well timed humor, and adventures that leave you wanting more. Seeley James has created a refreshing cast of characters with this series.
For light entertainment, good adventure, these are fun books to read. Pretty much unbelievable in terms of what the human body can do and withstand, but hey, it's fiction. Put on your basic suspension of disbelief and go for it. I enjoyed these books even though I wanted to strangle Pia most of the time for being so thoughtless about the safety of her teammates...
Fun read. Quirky characters. People who enjoy action and twisted plots will enjoy Sabel and her crew of mismatched security team.However, after the first couple of stories, the villains all seem to be the same stereo type. Evil females, greedy warlords, ambitious politicians.The story improved for the 4th book in the series. That one holds a lot more promise.
