This was a nice collection of stories and poems. I was required to read most of them for my Chican@ Arts and Ideas class, and I enjoyed most of them. My favorites were the La Llorona essay, and two of the poems: "Stupid America," and "Recipe: Chorizo con Huevo Made in the Microwave." It was a nice change of pace from other types of fiction I have read, and has some great literature in it. I would never have picked it up if not for the class, but the teacher made an excellent selection. I might even read some of them again for fun, which is rare for me when it comes to textbooks.

love that it was afordable. Now that the class is over, i still use it since it has alot of cool history in it.
