I taught fourth grade and the boys in the class read this book non-stop. One or two parents got all offended, came in all mad because they heard about "some book". When they actually read it they calmed down. The girls would read it and say, "yeah". The boys would read it and go, "oh, now I get it".

My 9 year old son was embarrassed when I purchased this for him as a gift but I totally caught him reading it multiple times!!! It even inspired him to write a book on How to be Cool. I haven't seen his finished product but the fact that he is reading and is interested in writing is just perfect for me.

I am a middle school, high school teacher. I have read this book to several classes, and they love it. It is a jumping off point for their own feelings and makes a great writing assignment for them as well. It's rare when kids ask you to read a book to them over and over.

I gave this to a guy in my youth group as a gag-gift, because he tends to be rude with a lot of the girls. It was a huge hit, everyone including himself laughed when they saw it, and he immediately opened it and began using it on his girl friend.

My 10 year old granddaughter asked me to buy it for her 9 year old cousin. Her older brother had received it when he was young and she remembered how it made him dress better. She thought her cousin needed the advice in the book.

My darling 6 year old son found this at our local library and wanted to check it out to read. Although there are a few things I can say that I don't agree with, you know since the kid who wrote it is 9, he just didn't know any better so it opens a dialog with your son about things that normally they may not want to talk about or know how to talk about so here they can say "Mom, I read in this book that..." and you can offer your insight on the matter.

Contains a negative reference to flapping, which is commonly associated with Autism.Disappointed. The information is a little too silly, and some jokes may come across wrong to literal thinkers.

I thought this was a very clever book. It tells boys how to talk and act around girls without a lot of big words and explanation. I know as a parent, when my son asks me questions, I tend to go overboard and overexplain. I worry that he won't get it. But perhaps I need to learn from this 9 year old author and just keep it simple.
