its a great stats book for nursing. easy to read and the paragraphs are short and to the point telling you exactly what you need to know with no fluff! one of the few nursing books i had that i actually read cover to cover and actually enjoyed it!
Make sure you purchase the latest edition for your class because it provides a code that enables free use of the supplementary website. This edition does not. When I purchased this the latest edition was not yet available. If you are required by your instructor to use the website supplementation and you don't have a code you will have to pay an extra $35+ to obtain access. The offerings on the website are really disappointing. The quality of the audio and the powerpoint presentations is not good. This book is being used for my graduate level course. The more comprehensive and better authored text I used for my undergrad statistics course 22 years ago was much better. I wish I still had it. I can't remember the title.
Let's face it, a book on statistics will seldom be on a nursing student's "must-read" list. With that said, "Statistics for Nursing" makes an ordinary subject interesting and reveals it's true worth in practical application. As nurses, we use statistics in our clinical practice far more than we realize. This book is enjoyable to read and user-friendly. It is written by a nurse for nurses. I usually sell back my books at the end of the semester but this one's a keeper and is something I will continue to reference.
I purchased this book for a graduate nursing course. It's okay. It doesn't go into great detail, but it does help explain some of the concepts in simple terms. It's more suited for undergraduate nursing courses.
This statistics book is written by a nurse for nursing students who need statistics to finish their degree. It is written relative to nursing practice and nursing research. The textbook makes understanding statistics easy to understand. It provides examples of the statistical information withing the nursing framework. Good textbook for nursing students.
Using real life nursing situations made Statistics much easier. This book was successful in explaining statistic in a way that was applicable making concepts and purpose of statistics understandable.
This book made the statistics class fun. It was an easy read and all the information related to nursing. I loved the examples provided. Really enjoyed this class (and I was dreading it at the beginning).
The kindle version is missing many of the tables and graphs needed to complete the review questions at the end of the chapters. I have had to go back and purchase the actual paper version of the book in order to complete my class. Would have been nice if they would have told me upfront. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!
