I've been using Evernote for years but there was a lot of information in this little book that was completely new to me. Who knew you could create a table of contents for your notebooks? Or that tags could have a hierarchical structure? The steps are well explained and accompanied by lots of screenshots to show exactly how to implement them. Excellent resource for both Evernote "beginners" or users like me that just need to create order from the chaos!

The author's example uses one notebook for every direct ancestor and sibling of an ancestor. However, there is a 250 notebook limit in Evernote. Eventually one could reach the notebook limit. It would be better to have notebooks for different record types and use tags to classify notes further.

This book is so easy to understand. I love Evernote and I do genealogy. This book taught me things I never knew about using Evernote - and I thought I knew it all. Will tell all my genealogy friends about this little gem.

I love the nested tags! Awesome tip. Good naming conventions too. I just use one notebook for my research and let tags and saved searches take care of the organization. Saves me a lot of time.

Have just begun using Evernote and I am holed! Using special markings on notebooks and tags to create a hierarchy of contents is especially helpful for my needs. This is a sort read with long-lasting and extremely beneficial organizational capabilities. Glad I bought this resource aid.

This will be very helpful as I try to put my genealogy files in order. It is clearly written and easy to understand for someone like me who is completely unfamiliar with Evernote. I would have liked a little more explanation about the ^ and~ symbols she refers to, but that may be obvious within the software. A very nice brief overview.

Lorine, I love reading your columns (I get weekly links to genealogy articles and blogs), but you fell short on this one. There just wasn't enough detail. You might try writing this as a series of LONGER columns, and keep in mind the fact that you really do have more space for elaborating. Also, there are those of us who are still new to Evernote, and this may have been part of my problem in really grasping what you were trying to say. Please try an update, as I know you are a talented writer!

You laid out a very clear path to getting my genealogical files organized. I'm off to the computer right now to use your suggestions. Thank you.
