The ER never closes, meaning the stories never end!The Real Stories from a Small-Town ER series is back with a condensed book of wild stories about patients doing the unimaginable. Since the last two books were published, patients have taken crazy to a new level, including bringing weapons into the ER and making Facebook's 'Trending News' section.Written by a registration clerk, these are true stories from the first person to see the patients at this small-town hospital in Ohio.

I bought a series of books from this author. I must say, although many of the stories are interesting, I'll never look at the ER in the same way after reading them. The author appears to view patients very negatively and seems to be nasty with quite a lot of them. I don't find her humor funny and I think she should find different work if these people are too demanding or needy.People in the ER are usually upset, and scared. This is where good people skills come in. Something the author should have developed. Nice to know what goes on behind our backs. :-(

the e-book You Were Stabbed Where?: Real Stories from a Small-Town ER is the third book that I have read from the author Kerry Hamm. I obviously enjoy her books if I keep reading them. I would recommend that the author re-edit parts of the book because either words are left out of a sentence here or there or she possibly dropped sentences in a couple of the stories. Her stories are entertaining, some are sad and or stupid. I intend to read the other three of her books that I've collected. She's a good writer and her stories are insightful.

Another in a series of books from our favorite ER registration lady. Yes not the docs not the nurses the ER registration lady and not some hot shot trauma center. This is a book for you if you want the drama not the trauma. All the nuts, self absorbed people, and crazy situations that go on in this small town ER make Bellevue look tame or maybe Bellvue's registration lady needs to write a book. Highly recommend and you don't need to start from Book one as the Author smartly catches you up.

The stories are engaging and for the most part well written. However, the proofreading is sloppy and there are errors in formatting. This is simply not the same level of quality as the author's other two books.- Read via Kindle Unlimited.

I have Chronic Pancreatitis. At one point, at first, they were calling it Severe Acute Pancreatitis. It's not as bad now as it was at first, but apparently it's not ever going away. When I first came down with it, and realized I probably needed to go to the Emergency Room, I waited until 3:30 in the morning. I reasoned that it would be a slow time. It actually was, there was nobody in there. I only saw one employee in the ER.I believe I almost waited too long. I was staggering in, and that one employee was helping me in the door. I collapsed in his arms, and he poured me into a wheelchair. The next thing I knew, they were trying to get me out of the wheelchair for a CT scan, but I could not get up. I ended up in the ICU for 5 weeks. The last thing in this book says about people waiting until 3am to come in but does not really explain why that's not a good idea. I kind of get the picture that the ER could get crazy at any time. But I would still like to hear a fuller explanation of why my reasoning was faulty. Is it just because I didn't know any better? Or is it something common sense that I am missing?Anyway, I'm working my way through all of these. I'm drinking them in like a sponge. I spent 9-1/2 months in the hospital, so there is a lot here that is familiar. I learned, in the hospital, the secret about nurses. They are here to save my @$$, not kiss it. As long as you keep that in mind, you will get along fine :) with them. I love nurses, they taught me so much good stuff, I am so grateful.I'm getting a lot of good info from these books as well. These are really good to read, I hope more people come across them. I know I will be recommending them to my Kindle friends.

Kerry, please don't let criticism of little bits that are off, like spelling or punctuation, cause you any consternation. I am far more interested in the stories, funny and sad, and certainly did not expect literary fiction, a là Toni Morrison, when I downloaded this and others of your works. I truly enjoy them. As they say, thanks for sharing.

This is my second purchase of a Kerry Hamm book.....keep them coming!!! She leaves the reader wanting more and more stories....some are sad you wonder how she and her co-workers are able to face another day....some stories illustrate exactly why the American healthcare system is so jacked up.....

I always enjoy the books by Kerry Hamm because, being a medical person, I know they are true. And I'm sure she has many, many more stories to tell. It is unbelievable that some people are that dense or foolish. The heartbreakers are the children who don't deserve what they got for parents. Keep writing, Kerry! We love you!
