I've been looking left and right for good information on intravenous therapy and all I found were studies that are just too complicated for me to comprehend. This book simplifies just about every aspect of the subject while still managing to carry out the pro-level details. The step-by-step procedures are very specific and the danger avoidance guide helped me a whole lot. Couldn't be more satisfied!

I am a coward in terms of needles. I really hate it. I got this book just to check out something. I got what I need and I found this book as a great guide for nurses. I may not able to appreciate it more because this is personally not in my line but I the fact that I got what I need here is something that I can guarantee you that this book is really helpful and detailed.

I am not a nurse or paramedic or even in the field of health and sciences but I gain a lot of insights from this book on the dangers that may arise while doing Intravenous Therapy or IV sticks and also the proper way of inserting the IV from elderly to newborn baby through its step by step process which is discussed on detail and simply by the author.

Impressive! Great book, I'm getting ready to teach a group of new emts the basics of starting ivs and this is by far the best reference material I've seen. A lot of the things I've had to learn the hard way are explained simply in this book and as a medic in the er with years of expirence I still enjoyed this book and would recommend it to any clinician new or old. Really worth recommending!

A long time ago in a galaxy far away I was in the military service (it has been almost 20 years), and I've learned there how to use an IV and what procedures I should take in case of emergency in the field or in the base. It was a really good referesher course in this guide, the steps are detailed and clear, and it's real easy to understand. The only thing missing for me are images or diagrams to show the exact locations or the exact placements of the different equipment types in the steps. I think with a little black and white images, or simple colored images would make a world of difference (attached an image example).Overall the book was simple and clear and that's exactly what a guide like this should be like!

Few months ago, I was injected with IV for my labor induction and unfortunately for me, the nurse was not skilled enough. The first nerve that he injected it to got swollen so they had to redo it again to another vein on the same hand. I was totally disappointed because the night of that same day, the entire hand was swollen so they had to transfer it to another hand. Long story short, it wasn't a good experience for me.When I stumbled upon this book, I got curios so I grabbed it. I gotta say that it's written pretty well. I don't have any nursing background so most of what I've read were unfamiliar but I understood most of them anyway. That experience I had contributed to it, I guess and I've come to understand why it happened to me. I couldn't really blame the nurse back then as much as I thought I could.

My cousin will be starting on his 1st year in Nursing school and I thought of something of a reference book that would be of use for him. I made a quick read on this, though I'm not associated with any medical practices but I find this book to be a very comprehensive module in learning such. The topic is well explicated in a simple easy to understand way. I definitely know that this will be a great reference to people into medical practice. Worth recommending!

I had got this book to familiarize myself with IV process as i look forward to start my classes in September. I must say it was helpful and gave me a good brief start of what will be expected when that time comes. The guiding steps are clear and easy to understand, I can confidently say i have learn how to insert an IV, and how to perform intravenous cannulation.
