This book is so helpful in the urgent care, fast track, or emergency department setting!! It walks you through everything like you would a patient encounter: the chief complaint, the history, the physical, lab tests. It is such an easy format to follow! Flip to the chief complaint and then go through each section. It makes sure you hit all the important questions in the history, all the important things to acknowledge in the exam, and all the differentials to include in your medical decision making. My thought process as a PA has improved with this book, my H&Ps have become more focused and efficient, and my documentation has become more accurate and legally defensible. I love this book and would recommend it to anyone who works with pediatric patients!
Great if you are a med student. But NOT if you know any amount of clinical medicine.
