As a 1st year nursing student taking health assessment, I found this book really helpful. It had great pictures that tells you how and where to assess certain parts of the body. It also has some explanations that go along with what is being done. I think, though, that it is extremely simplified, but for a beginning practitioner, you can't go wrong with this book. It really helps you visualize what you should be doing.

While sometimes the graphics are a little too silly, the majority of the photos, graphs, diagrams, tables, etc. are really helpful and provide multiple strategies for remembering difficult content. I would recommend it for students of Anatomy and Physiology, or student nurses, PT's, OT's etc. Would be a helpful refresher for nurses returning to the profession. The book was minimally water damaged at the bottom edge, although it was packaged in a plastic wrapper.

This book really helped me for Health Assessment. When taking the exams I remembered the pics. from the book, and knew exactly what the question was asking for. On the other side I wished the book had more information, but it is a good book for visual learners like myself.

I bought the kindle version of this book. I would definitely recommend the hardcover version. The first few chapters weren't that helpful but I found that as the book progressed it became more useful. It was a good resource for charting purposes (ie here are 10 abnormalities for this system and their general description). The pictures (and there were a lot of them) usually helped illustrate the abnormality. There were times that I felt the book went way to in-depth on certain aspects and other times where I felt it glossed over certain concepts or procedures that I wish it would have covered. All in all, I would give it 4/5 stars. Maybe not worth the $30 I paid for it, but if you could find a used copy for 10-20 it's worth the extra help.

And this book is perfect for this! It shows AND explains how to do health assessments. I love how it uses real pictures/people, not diagrams. It's so helpful and will be great for my next class in nursing college! Definitely recommend to anybody who is a visual learner.

I'd highly recommend this book to new nurses or anyone that needs a quick review. the visuals make it easy to see what's important (love the quick anatomy reviews) and how to assess it.

This book is incredible. I actually understand so many things that were rushed over by my instructor because she did not have enough time to explain every single step in conducting a complete physical assessment. It really is made incredibly visual. I would recommend this to every nursing student.

This book is great! It takes the complicated parts out of health assessment. It includes tricks to remember landmarks, etc. The photos are extremely helpful in explaining different examinations. I'll use it for years to come.
