The character development is great, and I have really enjoyed the storyline. A great beginning captures you and it is hard to put the book down. You will learn a lot of what it means to survive and what new skills you must develop. So, read, enjoy, learn and save some more food.
I must say besides the good story of this book is the good editing of this book. I have read many books of this type, and most seem they were either written as a 6th grade English class paper or edited by a 6th grader. I cant wait for the next book of this series to be available for reading.
Starts with a well written cliffhanger. An EMP break ups a trial and an unusual alliance develops between opposing lawyers who try to find a way to survive. It is also a story of family members trying to find each other. In 1953 we drove from Port Arthur Texas to New Orleans. I was fascinated by the swamps which are where this story takes place.
With indie authors sometimes you don't know what your are going to get. I was pleasantly surprised by this book and enjoyed it very much. The author did a great job of telling the story with out over telling it and getting into the details that didn't really matter to the overall story. While there were a few instance of repetitive information it didn't take away from the story. I would highly recommend this book and am looking forward to the next book.
Really enjoyed this book. I became invested in the characters right away which was nice. Love EMP stories. Haven't rated a book in a very long time. Wanted to be sure book 2 was encouraged! I hope to see it on soon.
Good story so far. Whets ones appetite for book 2. Author from the same area as my family. So far as the book goes accurate information of the area and general characteristics and descriptions are good. Story has great possibilities and it seems the author knows where he is going and possibility has been there. Want to read book 2 to see how the adventures go. Haven't heard of this author before. Maybe this is his first book? IfSo, it is an outstanding first effort. I appreciate an author who respects his readers enough to really edit and proof his work. This was excellently done for this work. Great story line, characters, and character development. Cannot wait for book 2. I will definitely look for works by Chris Pike.
I just finished reading your Unexpected World. I love your writing style. The story moved along and I enjoyed the characters you have developed. I was hoping Cassie's best friend would survive. The interaction between Dillon and Holly is very reealistic.I really enjoyed Unexpected World and look forward to the next book. Thanks so much for writing it.
