This is a great book for people who love baseball statistics and lists. The majority of the book contains lists of accomplishments that are somewhat oddball in nature - the type of statistics that you would not find in a Baseball Encyclopedia. A couple of examples are 'Most Home Runs By Left-Hand Hitting Shortstops' and 'Oldest Pitchers To Win 20 Games For The First Time'. There are hundreds of these types of lists and they are all fascinating. The last third of the book contains summaries of all major league teams throughout history. It contains the team record for each year, who managed the teams, Hall of Famers who played on the team, players from the team who led the league in various batting and pitching categories and history of postseason play.I want to thank the editors and publisher for issuing this 4th edition which is updated through the 2015 baseball season. I've owned the second edition (2010) for many years and had been referencing it to this day.

Baseball is the greatest of all sports ; among many reasons is the story all its intricate stats relate and bring to life. This is an exceptional book; hard to put down . Amazing stats and historical contexts

I have all of these books it must take you months to find all of this information. You work very hard at making these books just for us baseball lovers and I thank you for it

I am a statistics nut....especially about baseball. To me, this book is like reading a novel

Includes many semi-obscure but not stupid statistics -- and definitely not the ones you will find online on baseball-reference.com
