I recently took the OCN exam. I started out trying to read the huge core curriculum book....impossible! For one thing, it is in outline form. Forget it! What worked for me was using this book to find areas I needed to learn more about. I went through the entire book circling the answers I got wrong, studied weak areas using other sources, then back another time to see if I could get the answers right a second time through. I found the questions to be very similar to the ones on the actual test so I do recommend it.

Very Helpful product for studying for the OCN! I just took the test and passed...and all I studied was this book! The questions in the book were very similar to the ones on the test, and the book gave a good overview of all the areas you need to learn. I would recommend this to anyone needing a good study book for OCN! Good luck!

This is a helpful book with test questions, what would have made it 5 stars would have been a CD rom.

I passed the OCN exam today. This book was the only study material I used. I was at a disadvantage in that I am not exposed to chemo related knowledge in the course of my daily duties.Knowing normal lab values and this book gave me the facts I needed to know to pass. I,too would have liked a CD ROM with several practice tests. Best of luck to you!

Wait for 2015 book if you are testing after March!!! It s on too and you can preorder it, but it is the one and only OCN approved material. If not, don't stress, I only studied this book and went to review class with directly reflected it....felt like none of the questions on the test were what I studied...BUT STILL PASSED...you can too! I was informed by OCN that they no longer endorse this book a week before I tested after reviewing it cover to cover 2-3 times so I was a but panicked...they had no dedicated materials they endorsed so my choice was to buy $100s tons of books and hope I studied the right stuff in the next week or just wing it on my green book knowledge and hope it's enough-- I think that's kinda unfair to the test candidate last minute after fees were due late March. Anyway I added OCN secrets las t couple days, it was same info mostly, but I really think the main reason I passed was because I was critically thinking more effectively spirit studying the green book. If you are able to wait for new book, I would highly recommend it, but if not, study the green book you have and remember to trust that you are a nurse with oncology knowledge, and it can be done...don't fret!!!

I ordered this book to review for the Oncology Nurse certification Test. It was a very organized and easy to study review guide. I went through the book and took the tests, then reviewed the material that I missed. It gave the reasons for the correct answer. I ordered it a couple of weeks before the test and passed without any problems. I would recommend it to anyone planning to take the test. Great book! full of good info

If your looking for a book to help with your OCN exam this is the one to get. The book is broken down logically in a similar format to the OCN exam and the answers are followed by an explanation. Do every question in the book and understand the answer and you should pass.

This book got me through the exam. A great overview, and helped me get into the heads of the test writers and how they ask questions. The "Core Curriculum for Oncology Nursing" is a good resource, but overwhelming and shouldn't be used as the main study source. A person will drown in a book that detailed, and feel defeated before they even start. At least, that is how I felt by page 2. I scored high in the test in almost all of the categories mainly because I knew HOW to answer the questions. This book prepared me well. I took a chapter at a time, slowly, no cramming. Feel like a was a much better nurse after I had studied. It worked for me. Wish you the very best!
