Excellent book for explaining what the focus is in the research for ovarian cancer. It was a realistic view of what it is like having this disease. I am giving the book to any member of my support group who wants to read a book from a doctor who has spent his entire career working on finding a test that would detect the disease in the early stage when it is very treatable.
I am an ovarian cancer survivor who has also written a book about this lesser known disease (Outshine: An Ovarian Cancer Memoir). Dr. Benigno presents concise and easy to understand information and some patient stories. I highly recommend the book for anyone and everyone. Women need to know about ovarian cancer.
Information and research is changing so rapidly-- I'd almost prefer a website with a sign up fee -- and then it is updated with the newest information. I'd subscribe to that! However, the book is a good overview of what's out there and what to expect.
This was my daughters doctor. Though she died from a recurrence of ovarian cancer in 2012, this made me more aware of what took place with her. I did not understand much while going through her illness.
