The book deals with various presentations of common (e.g. malaria) and less common (e.g. Konzo) diseases encountered in the tropics. It covers all major tropical sites as Sub-Saharan Africa (e.g. onchocerciasis, Ebola), Southeast Asia (e.g. penicilliosis), South America (e.g. paracoccidioidomycosis, veruca peruana) etc. Discussions of the cases provide a practical „hands-on“ approach to diagnosis and further management of patients. The book includes well organized clinical cases of typical clinical presentations that might be encountered in the tropics or in returning travellers. There are various illustrations and the book is a great fun to read. The strengths of this book are a pragmatic practical approach in case discussions and broad spectrum of diseases presented (including non-infectious as Konzo and pellagra).
