The box was damaged upon arrival and these cards are made of flimsy paper. Overpriced card version of a drug book. Do not buy if you are looking for flash cards to learn from. This is a drug book in cheap card form.
The mosby cards are good. I am using them for my nursing degree. A classmate ordered the mediquick cards and hers had more of the medication cards than these did. But these are great size and fit well in my scrub pocket.
I am an LPN and am currently enrolled in an lpn to RN bridge program. I find drug cards to be very helpful both on the job and in clinicals at school. It allows for easy access to drug information when ever needed. I own a few sets of drugs cards but these are the set that I use. I highly recommend these for any nurse or student. I am so glad that I bought this. Well worth the money.
The "cards" are printed on pulp paper, making them absorbent of any fluids, such as blood, snot, or vomit. I used a ziplock bag to keep them dry and protected when not in use in my scrub pocket. There were also a number of medications not included in the deck, but the cards are the same size as large note cards, making it a pretty simple process of inserting your own handmade cards without having size discrepancies. The information contained on the cards is concise and effective, making it a good supplementation for making handmade cards for medication passing.The most annoying thing is that some meds have too much info, and have a second card with only a few sentences on it. I copied the info from the second card into the margin of the first, and threw the second one away.
These were a last minute buy for me. I am in my last semester of school and thought these would be helpful to study with. They have not been for me. A lot of the drugs we are covering are not in there. I could see how this would of been helpful if I bought them at the beginning of my schooling!
I bought these for my first semester of nursing school along with a drug book. These cards come in handy when I am at clinicals and do not always have time to look up a drug and can carry just the card I need instead of walking around with a book. They have a lot of the same information that is in the drug book, with the side effects, dosage, action, and nursing considerations. They have helped me out a lot!
They were very helpful in reducing my time of making drug cards for my med pass. The cards had a bit more info than I actually needed for the assignment. But they are very good drug cards and I would recommend them if you are in nursing school with small children and don't have a lot of time to stay up all night researching meds. Hope this helps!
Short and sweet on the information. They worked well for clinical. Still needed to add a post it note to personalize it to my patient, but that was easier than having to write a card from scratch.
