This is a priceless compilation of 140 commonly and must-know meds for those nursing students who are currently studying Nursing Pharmacology. Each medication is broken down by the generic name, the trade name, the indication, action, therapeutic and pharmacological classes, and nursing considerations. Each one is listed in a hyperlinked, easy-to-navigate table of contents, giving you the ability to jump right to your searched topic. In addition, there is a section about the common medication classes, followed by study questions. I can imagine, the study of NCLEX meds can be overwhelming to students—this guide cuts hours out of study time and takes you right to the information required for easy memory. The language is simple and readable as compared to the textbooks. Also included with this guide is “63 Must Know NCLEX Labs,” which is a downloadable 4-page PDF, nursing considerations in flash card format, obscure facts, and outlines some of the other classes of medicines. Another top-notch study guide from NRSNG.com.

I really like the layout of this book and how it breaks down all of the drugs so simply and in an easy to understand manner. The reason I didn't give the book 5 stars is because of the numerous amounts of typos that are present in the book. I'm not even through the C's and have found 4 that could have easily been caught by spell check. It makes me cautious with the credibility of the book. But it seems good so far.

Awesome book. Concise but contains all of the necessary nursing implications. Meds are listed alphabetically by the generic name and include the trade name directly under that. This makes it easy to look up your drug. My ONLY complaint is that the print is soooo small or I would have given it five stars. Jon Haws RN, CCRNEXAMCCRN knows his stuff and is a great teacher. Check out his website for memes and other charts or teaching material at nursing.com.

Very disappointing. I don't know what the other reviewers saw but this is just a list of drugs. Each page is a sparse and boring: name, generic name, doesn't even have contraindications. Guess I should have known, I did listen to their podcast and at least half of it is sales pitch.

found mistake in book, it stated that buspirone was wellburtin... which is wrong.... so now i am concerned and on the watch for other mistakes

I am a recent graduate and newly licensed nurse, and this book is wonderful. Each med is broken down so clearly and simple. I bought this book looking to expand my knowledge of commonly used drugs and this book hit everything I needed in one simple format. I would highly recommend this book to all current students and new graduates.

all this book is: is a drug book with less information and the print so small really couldn't you pick a normal size print so it can be easily readit is not like you didn't have the room. most pages have a lot of blank space I couldn't be more disappointed in my life! I bought it to help me because the pharmacology text book was so much information and the drug book well we know how much information there is in them. it is done alphabetical instead of grouping class together it is all over the place like a drug book

This book is pretty much worthless. Although the drugs are explained in a way that is easier to understand than a typical "drug book," there is no organization to it, which makes it too time consuming to use. There is no index and it is not arranged in alphabetical order. If I want to find a specific Rx you will have to search for it page by page since there is no method to the way the drugs are ordered in this book. Save your money and get something better.
