I had to write because I disagree with the negative review. I first saw this book at thelibrary and decided to purchase it for myself because it offers just what the title suggests:a way to step up your knitting to the next level. There are small projects to practice a newskill, challenge yourself and have a nice gift to give to a friend. Knitting should be funand this book helps you remember why you wanted to learn the craft in the first place. NowI am going to give it to a friend who seems to be stuck in a knitting rut. I am no kid; I am 70years old and have been knitting for many years but I like to look for the fun and Vickie Howellknows how to help us have fun with our knitting!

I normally like my knitting pattern books in actual book form but this one has good pictures with it; so it kind of makes up for it.
I bought this because it seemed like a good stepping stone from being a beginner. The reason the rating is so low is because the pictures are so small that I can't even tell what it is supposed to be showing. If I had seen that before I bought it, I wouldn't have.
If you're brand new to knitting, maybe not a bad book. I didn't see a lot in here that is very inspiring, but the kindle edition was $2 so I'm not complaining. There's a pattern or 2 in here that I would consider adding to my to do list. Maybe.....
This book provided information on the all the basics, or at least everything I could think of. I wish there was more on breast feeding multiples, maybe with pictures as well. I like that it was easy to read and it didn't seem to push any specific point of view on the reader. It is a good overview for any new mom or veteran mom who needs a refresher on the process of pregnancy, birth, and after care.
I was extremely disappointed with this book. It received rave reviews from freeknitting.com, so I preordered it from before publication and before I could examine some of the pages. I'm an experienced knitter who enjoys making worthwhile and less-than-simple projects. This book is full of patterns for silly, unattractive, goofy items that are a waste of time and effort to knit.
I am such a fan of Vickie Howell, I love her show and she makes knitting so easy and fun. I plan on making everything in her book. Her instructions are easy to follow and her projects are useful. Recommend this book to anyone wanting to knit. It is great therapy.
This book is okay for most knitters. I will probably try to do some things in it. I would have liked more beginner and easy projects in it since I am a new knitter and teaching myself how to knit. It has some nice patterns and I like that I could put it on my Kindle Fire to use on the go.
