Forgetting the fact that the author chose possibly the very worst title for this book, which likely keeps people from investigating the contents of this book; needless to say this book is the unquestionable supreme magnum opus of intellectual research and insight into Pythagorean metaphysics and mysticism.Pure Platinum exquisite sharp brilliant perfection. That IS this book. This book takes rank as a "top 5 out of EVERY book ever written on Pythagorean/Platonic metaphysics" Own this book at all costs.Now that this rare gem is reprinted in a cheap paperback, GET IT AT ALL COSTS!Again, utterly IGNORE the title of this book, its horrific. Its contents are divinely brilliant. Should I mention the fact that every book, nearly, which is written upon the topic of early Platonism and Pythagoreanism, uses THIS VERY BOOK as its reference. That is an undeniable fact.
SK Heninger's book, "Touches of Sweet Harmony", is an excellent background into the ideas underlying medieval and renaissance cosmology. I highly recommend it if that topic is of interest to you. The title "Touches of Sweet Harmony", comes from a passage in Shakespeare (The Merchant of Venice scene V act i), and refers to the music of the spheres, a subject which is directly relevant to the subject of this book. Clearly the reviewer who thought this title was "horrific" is simply too ignorant to know any better.
