Well, I actually had to buy this book for a college course of mine, so the most I can say about it is that: 1) It's informative, 2) It's also EXTREMELY boring, 3) It was in a pretty decent condition from the seller. All in all, as a vocalist this book is a very good reference to your instrument and helps answer any questions you might have.
This was a required textbook for my Vocal Pedagogy class. I have found it extremely helpful. It is very technical read, though, so don't expect to learn this information by skimming the pages or reading through it one time. Overall, it was a good investment, and a decent resource to refer back to throughout my musical career. It does carry a very high price tag for a textbook of its size.
The last edition did not have the very large section on the touchy feely part of voice pedagogy that this most recent edition has. I am looking for a textbook for my intro to vocal pedagogy class. I might use this, but would skip a few chapters to get to the essential basics.
A great reference for singers and singing teachers. Anatomical and physiological descriptions with pictures and simple, straight forward text. I've found this ebook really useful and so portable in digital format!
Absolutely horrid book. It's full of pseudocientific ramblings that only detract from the information. Don't waste your time or money unless you're into Chopra, crystal energy healing and such.I expected better from Springer.
