This is a must have for any medical student on an ENT rotation, definitely for a sub-I, you'll be a rockstar if you read through relative sections during a third year elective. The chapters are well written, they are concise, and allow for effective review through questions. Illustrations are very valuable.
Excellent resource for the 3rd or 4th year student who wants to get the most out of their 4 week ENT rotation. Easy to find topics in the book, short chapters that cover the most pertinent information, and set up in a q&a format that prepares you for pimping during clinic and in the OR. Highly recommended!
This book is a must for 3rd/4th-year medical students or junior interns on ENT rotations. The format of Q-A type learning is especially effective in this book. I find that the information presented in ENT Secrets is much more approachable than Pasha and it's easy to digest lots of high-yield information from the short and to-the-point chapters. The 4th edition of ENT Secrets has several updates that improve upon previous editions including many updated figures, more thorough and clear explanations in several chapters, and overall more clarity and detail. While this book is not intended to be a resource for learning surgical anatomy, there are plenty of helpful anatomic figures that relate the text to the relevant anatomy. These are definitely questions that frequently come up on the wards and in the OR, and the explanations are presented in a format that facilitates learning the rational behind the answer instead of promoting baseless memorizing. I cannot recommend this updated version enough.
This updated version of ENT Secrets is a valuable learning tool for any medical student interested in Otolaryngology. The book is organized in a way such that it is a quick, to-the-point reference. The chapters are concise and approachable, making this a great way to prepare for cases and rounds during third and fourth year rotations. The Q&A format highlights key concepts which is especially helpful for learners who have has little prior exposure to this specialized field. Likewise, it really is a good way to start building your foundation of knowledge in Otolaryngology moving forward. All the basic ideas and constructs are there, so I think it is a great starting point for prospective ENT surgeons. I definitely recommend it to anyone with an interest in the field!
