It's a great book if you're interested in video games, especially at the price. My only complaint (-1 star) is that they left out the original NES records! That's right, no original Nintendo Entertainment System records. Must have been an oversight as they have most other consoles of that era.Aside from that though, it's very nicely done.
I bought this expecting it to be a book on records but while the book is 200 pages there's not really any records in it while there are some its mostly all just facts and the facts arent really even that good plus why does minecraft need a 30 page spread. I bought this hoping to find out all about records for video games but instead i ended up with a funfact book and a idea for minecraft book .
Our kids LOVE the Guinness books. They love video games. Perfect marriage right here. Great book. Lots of fun for our 11 and 9 year old. They are reading about video games, rather than playing them. Whatever it takes to get them away from the TV for a bit ;) There are tons of really neat information in this book. Things unexpected and some hokey stuff in there as well, but its all good fun. Great book!
This was purchased by my 10 yo son, and he keeps it in the car and loves reading all about the various records for video games. It has a ton of pictures and interesting facts, and it's kept my son entertained in many a traffic jam.
I got this book for my 7 and 8 year old sons who are turning into quite the little gamers. It is a classic Guinness World Records book but this one is all about gamers. It is a paperback book that features all the popular games and hardware. The popular games get 1-2 pages all about them and then throughout the book are more facts. I love flipping through it as there are pages about old school games and consoles that I can enjoy. My boys love the Minecraft section which is 22 pages all about the popular game. It is a great gift for a gamer to enjoy some off-screen time too! It is so nice to see my boys browsing this book together on the couch rather than fighting over a game!I received this product to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
I love being a gamer and now my girls also love doing this too! This book is basically the go to reference for anyone who loves video games. They even have included a great section on Minecraft that my daughter simply loved!Whether you know everything about what came out last year or not, this book sets the record straight and gives you great insight into amazing games.While I have tried to play many of the games included there are some that were new to me. I purchased this book for my son, he is very into gaming and Guinness World Records. He loved it, it has detailed information about different systems over the years, as well as individual games. The pages are nicely designed with clear, color photographs.
